5 tips to help you design a successful Instagram campaign

December 11, 2017

Instagram campaigns can be successful, but you have to be strategic in order to make a real impact. Most marketing agencies, creative agencies, and indeed, brands, have cracked Facebook, but a lot do not use Instagram to its full potential, or in worst cases, have no presence on the platform whatsoever.

According to Statista, there were 800 million active users on Instagram in the month of September, 2017, and it is proven to be the most engaging platform also. A brand should want their Instagram marketing strategy to reach targeted demographics, engage users and drive real social value.

With that in mind, we want to share 5 tips to help you design a successful IG campaign.

1. Location, Location, Location

Tagging the location of the photo in an Instagram post is a great way of increasing engagement. Infact, posts tagged with a location receive 79% higher engagement. It allows new users to find your profile, especially if you’re using Instagram in multiple places.

2. #

Hashtags increase your social media presence as they make the content viewable by anyone who has an interest in your hashtag. Look at the hashtags your target audience and close competition are using and make a list on your ‘notes’ app and copy and paste that each time into the post.

3. Influencer marketing

An influencer is an account with a mass following of people who can relate to the specific person, and therefore trust what they say and promote. Having an influencer under your wing is key to increasing followers and converting them into customers.

4. Ads

In these times, advertising across social media is crucial. Develop an Instagram ad and users who don’t follow you may view the ad and get interested in the message. A wider audience means more customers.

5. Ask the audience

One marketing ploy we like to use is asking the audience to caption the photo. Come up with a creative picture, pop in some hashtags and ask your audience to caption the photo. Watch the comments roll in.

Embed these tips into your campaign, and you will see an improvement.
